Southeast Oakville
We usually have many, many sparrows and finches at our feeders. This year, we have seen one finch, lots of robins and cardinals, and MANY red winged blackbirds and grackles.
Can any one explain why no finches. Friends in another part of Oakville are having the same situation.

I'm in Mississauga, and have had quite a number of finches, both first year and older at my feeders, including the usual, goldfinches, house sparrows, chickadees, cardinals, starlings, grackles, robins all with their young ones.

I can say the same as the last response. I have all the same birds. But two birds I have only seen once in the back yard This year, are humming birds and orioles. They both came to the nectar feeders once then left and never came back. I also have fucia flowers which the HB prefer, but have never seen them there either.
