Title: Great Egrets - Humber Marshes
Post by: Brian Bailey on July 21, 2013, 07:11:28 PM
I paddled the lower Humber River this afternoon.  There were no real surprises except for the number of other paddlers.  It's a busy place on a sunny summer Sunday afternoon! It continues to be THE place to see Great Egrets in Toronto.  I saw at least 7 different individuals - 6 all in one marsh at the same time.

If you go, the best place for egrets is usually the marsh on the west side that you can paddle into.  (There was another one accessible on the west side but access has been closed off with a berm.)
