Not sure what this is, I thought maybe a possum but the snout doesn't appear long enough. Any thoughts?

Hard to tell from bottom and branches but snout not right for raccoon......I would go with possum look right and nothing else around fits........unless you live next to Toronto zoo :D

Looks like a Gray Squirrel to me.

I wondered about it being a Grey, but it would be a very large squirrel if it was.Here is a picture before cropping of the area shot just before the photo was taken.

Interesting enough this was all brought around when I heard a great commotion up in the trees. It was like when squirrels jump back and forth up high between three different trees while at the same time there was a very high and loud continuous 'squealing'. I must admit the noise and commotion made me think about walking away...quickly. When I cropped the previous shot in search of what was there, this is what I got...now this has been cropped to the extreme so the quality is very poor.

It would seem that something, an owl or hawk perhaps was in the trees very hard to distinguish. But it was almost comical to see the exodus of various squirrels following the same path lower down to get off that tree. :lol:
Its times like this that make my walks sooo interesting :D

Looks like a sleeping raccoon to me. As for possums they're more common than you think. I see them crossing the road in Willowdale a few times a summer. There's at least a few pairs in the West Don river system near me.

This is clearly a squirrel, you can see the head and bushy tail.
