I got this shot today and not sure were the weird lighting effect/ blurring came from, all other shots were clear and wasn't effected by light.... this is as taken and not photoshoped at all...kind of like the effect
Anyone had similar results and know why this came out this way?

I had something similar along the bottom of a few shots once. The sun was coming from one side and reflecting off a white railing which was not visible in my viewfinder. If I remember correctly the railing was about halfway between me and the Hummer.
Here's the shot with resize and slight sharpening only;

Yes. Something is at the bottom of your shot. Your eye or bins have a much smaller objective lens and you probably didn't see it, but the camera lens did.

Light does play trick with us together with a shallow DoF. Here's the picture of a Killdeer and its two chicks that I took on July 26. They appear to come from another world through a portal or about to be sucked into a black hole. From the two scared chicks hiding behind their mother I could only guess that probably the second one is right. Notice the ripple around the dark spot. Not sure what caused it. Could be the shadow of a lamp-post.

It is something in the foreground between your camera and subject and it is so far outside of the DOF range it appears as a lighting issue but isn't.

Could be a bug traveling through the frame close enough to you to appear large and very out of focus. I've had a few cicadas do it and it really makes you wonder what they are in the frame for a couple of secs. That's the only thing I could suggest if it wasn't a low hanging branch in your field of view.

Hey
I was shooting images of my dog last summer. I took this image of her on the grass in our front yard "up North" through the railing spindles on the deck.
The vertical railing spindles disappear in the image and frame the head of the dog.
I have to find the original and see what the settings were at the time.
Napper :)

Holy smokes Napper!
Look at all the info compiled by the camera, I'm surprised that it had any time left to actually record the photo!
