Post by: jnieuwenhuis17 on August 18, 2013, 09:31:40 PM
With birding being slow.. even in Essex county I walked around Hillman marsh and took a few shots of the butterflies around and one ode that stayed still. Here are the ones I couldn't identify.

Seems the experts aren't chiming in so I'll take a stab;

1. Viceroy
2. colours blown out, can't tell
3. same
4. Some kind of Skipper
5. Most likely a Familiar Bluet
6. Eastern Tailed-Blue
7. same
8. same
9. same
10. I'm thinking Spring Azure
11. Silver-Spotted Skipper
12. I'm thinking Northern Crescent
13. same
14. Black Swallowtail
15. Looks like a Bronze Copper

I agree with Zed that the colours are blown out on two and three but could #2 be a Cabbage White and #3 a Clouded Sulphur?
