Title: where to see plovers
Post by: ontario birdwatch on August 19, 2013, 10:13:14 AM
Does anyone know of a good place in south eastern Ontario to see Golden Plovers or Black-Bellied Plovers.  I'm just dying to see one of these birds though don't know where to look for them, thanks.

Presqu'ile Provincial Park (Owen Point specifically) near Brighton is a good spot for Plovers and other shorebirds. There has been sightings of Black-bellied Plovers recently, no American Golden Plovers yet, but last year they were seen in September.

Thanks for the information, I appreciate it.  If I have time anytime soon I might head out to Presq'uile provincial park and see if I can find any plovers.
