We were treated to 2 Hummingbirds at our feeders this morning! One of each sex. Yep, summer is on its way out now. This is the only time of year we get 'em.

i broke our old feeder while cleaning it. the wife bought a new one with room to feed six. six. hah. as if.
this morning, i looked outside and one was PERCHED on the feeder. it stayed for 5 minutes. i was way too happy.
congrats on having 2. sadly, this will be short lived. i give it...1-2 weeks?

I still have a few young birds around and I've also seen at least one male yesterday and today, actually the first ones since my regular guy (Mad Max) made his last visit on Aug 15. If past 'history' is any indication my hummers will leave in early September, so where are all us hummer fanatics going to meet this year? (Hope I'm wrong but I think Rosetta will be a bust!)

rosetta will be a bust.
found 1 hummer at the Brickworks, but only 1 person at a time can view it.

I will be surprised if we see anymore in our yard as I think for us its a matter of being out there and catching a view of them passing through (nobody hangs around more than an hour or so).
Plus we got a juvi Coopers hanging around the past 2 weeks who is wreaking havoc at the feeders.

"...a juvi Coopers hanging around the past 2 weeks..."
Maybe one of "mine?" I do wonder where they go after dispersal.
Saturday must have been hummingbird day. We had one late afternoon in the cardinal flowers When she got tired of humming she sat on the fence in the sun for a bit for her photo op.

Ya never know re: juvi Coopers.
We get one or two young Hawks around late summer. Had a couple young Red-tails since there is a nest in the area though I haven't found it over last few years (I think it might be on the golf course by us near Lambton Woods).
A few years back had a young Coopers trying so hard to catch the Squirrels. It was hard to watch, he was desperate. The Squirrels just ran back and forth, almost like they were clueless.
