Post by: Bluffs Birder on August 26, 2013, 06:34:07 PM
Ya just never know what you're going to stumble upon.  In the last couple of days at Rosetta McClain Gardens in Scarborough I've been fortunate enough to see these two big moths:

Beautful shots Walter - looks like you've mastered the SX50 without any problems! Sorry I missed you today but I did get a couple of shots of a pipevine swallowtail in the main gardens and still NO monarchs in over an hour of butterflying(?) - did you see any earlier today?

Hey Howie,

Congratulations on the Pipevine Swallowtail, excellent find!  I got a Great Spangled Fritillary earlier in the day.  Both are new butterflies for the park since I've been keeping score.

No, not a single Monarch between 9:00AM and 2:00PM!  One in the backyard on Butterfly Bush when I got home.

Walter :)
