Sept 17th, I'm sitting out back with the cat and the birds, enjoying the afternoon when I noticed a female Hummingbird come buzzing through the yard. She went to the two feeders I still had out, sipping on the old sugar water mix. It's probably a week or so since I last made any. And actually earlier that morning I was going to take them down. Well, I raced inside and made a fresh batch. Thankfully she hung around until it was read and we enjoyed quite frequent visits from her over the next 3 hours until we went inside. Despite some bullying Sparrows and a Hornet that chased her as well, she stayed. We've seen more Hummingbirds pass through this late summer than ever before. :)

And 6 years ago today (Sept 17th), I brought this Budgie into our home after she lived outside, visiting our feeders, since late May of that year. Happy anniversary to Misfit!
