I took notice to this dead Duck floating at Humber Bay East this morning. And also that something(s) under the water were tugging at it. I believe these are both Red-eared Slider Turtles and I watched them for about 10 or so minutes constantly go and bite at it's head and neck. I know they eat both plant and animals but not so sure about dead stuff.

Many turtles, like snappers, eat carrion. If they weren't eating it directly, they may have been eating insects that were eating the duck. There are other reports of them eating carrion, online.
