Went out with a friend to the Sobey's Pond in Whitby. I was expecting a bigger pond, but was pleasantly surprised how close we got to the shorebirds there. Met a few other friendly birders.....Hello again! The Dowitcher was gone, but a small group of Pectoral Sandpipers dropped in and a few Yellowlegs splashed around.

Lovely photos!
The last photo of the Greater Yellowlegs has the very long bill to head ratio I was expecting for see for a Greater.
In the other photos, is it the camera angle that's making the bill seem too short for Greater?

I went back and checked my other series photos of the second last yellowlegs photo.....I think you are right, this might be a Lesser Yellowlegs. Also, the chest area is somewhat void of barring. Thanks!

I wasn't sure because I know that cameras can play some interesting tricks. The amount of yellow on the undersides of some birds in the canopy surprised me the first time I started using a digital, stuff like that.
