Title: Barrow's Goldeneye, Red-throated Loons - Stoney Creek
Post by: Anonymous on November 24, 2007, 06:48:09 PM
Today Ian Cannell and I stopped at Gray Road in Stoney Creek and while I was scanning for Loons Ian spotted the male Barrows Goldeneye swimming not far off shore with Long-tailed Ducks and we also counted 16 Red-throated Loons, close in to several hundred meters out, some in groups of 3 and 5 birds.

We did not scope off Greens Road or Sayers Park but probably more Red-throated Loons were off these areas as well.

Also present here and off Greens Road as usual were all 3 Scoter species and as we turned to leave a Cooper's Hawk flew over us at roof top height (  single storey houses :>))   ).
