Possibly the easiest lifer to get anywhere in the world, just by showing up there.

Mystery bird that I wanted to be a marled murrelet but I think is actually a juvenile pigeon guillemot.  Point Roberts, WA

Nice ones. The three species look like Surf Scoter, Barrow's Goldeneye and Black Oystercatcher.

Correct.  The reason I took the photo is because the surf scoters were moving in a funny way, from being in a bunch to a curved line, and they got that way like a balloon being blown up, in a very short period of time.

You are right, Iain, and I had not even noticed that myself (in the photo - I certainly did see them in the field).
