Title: Fake Owl vs Coopers Hawk
Post by: Napper on November 26, 2013, 05:55:09 PM
Found this on Youtube.

Thought it might be informative. You get to hear the  "Coopers Hawk" I am sure some have  never heard one.

p.s. I haven't seen a "Coopers" yet this Fall. A bit unusual.

That is one stressed Cooper's.
"My" Coops don't make that initial screech much, if at all.  And there's usually just one call, not a series.
I more often hear the nest "password" (the male's call to his partner on the nest) and later, the chick begging calls.
allaboutbirds has samples.
