Title: 2 Eiders, 3 Scoters and a Snowy Owl!
Post by: thouc on December 07, 2013, 01:03:05 PM
A very nice morning today. At Fifty Point CA in Grimsby I got to see the female Common Eider that has been there for a few days. There were also lots of Long-tailed Ducks and White-winged Scoters, a few Surf Scoters and 1 female Black Scoter. At Millen Rd in Stoney Creek I saw the female King Eider and could compare to the Common Eider. At Tollgate Ponds was a Snowy Owl, a group of Northern Shovelers and a group of Common Merganser.

Sounds almost identical to my afternoon - the only major difference being I scanned to get all the scoters at Millen Rd. instead of Fifty Point! There were also several Tundra Swan along the North Shore Islands.
