After the storm on Saturday, Sunday's count day in the yard for Project Feeder Watch was pretty insane. We had a total of 128 birds (14 species). Sure the House Sparrows made up 50 of them, 30 for the Starlings, 20 for the Pigeons and the other 28 spread through the rest.
The highlight(s) were this Northern Mockingbird who showed up on Saturday and continued visiting our Holly bush through Sunday. And later Sunday afternoon an American Tree Sparrow briefly stopped in.

What were the other 11?
I get only a few species: juncos, blue jays, cardinals, chickadees, hairy woodpeckers, used to get a lone American tree sparrow, white and red breasted nuthatches and the odd mourning dove

Cardinal, Blue Jays, Juncos, Downy Woodpeckers, Red-breasted Nuthatch, House Finch, Gold Finch, Mourning Dove, American Tree Sparrow and the weekend backyard count ended with the arrival of our Sharp-shinned Hawk.

Back in the 80s...a crested caracara flew onto Mississauga one winter....
-
That's just crazy talk man! Haha!
I'm sure the birders in Bermuda are wondering about the Snowy Owl down there right now.
Budgies and an Orange Canary are my exotics to show up.

Actually, right after I posted re: crested caracara, i googled it...Mississauga Caracara and there was a pic of Bernice Inman and the CC.
There's a snowy owl in Bermuda ? That's just great.....great....I've been trying for years....and I live in an area you think they'd come visit in winter...sigh...

Where are you living?
I've seen 14 Snowy Owls in the last month. They are seemingly everywhere. I've been spotting 2 at night on the drive home from work lately. I see them from the 401 so nothing I can do but keep driving.

I'm in Grey county....township of West Grey.....our motto is "West Grey....nestled in nature"....but no snowies

Axeman - if you haven't already, check out the ebird range maps. A quick look shows me that a Snowy has been reported on the docks at a marina near Owen Sound and another in Grimston. I don't know if either of these are easy for you to get to, but at least it's an indicator that they are around. And of course, only a fraction of the birds seen are ever actually reported on ebird, so perhaps there are more out there hiding in farmer's fields??? Anyway, here's a link to ebird: http://ebird.org/ebird/canada/map/snoowl1?neg=true&env.minX=-81.03047251135257&env.minY=44.5335352138098&env.maxX=-80.82568048864749&env.maxY=44.617051977682834&zh=true&gp=false&ev=Z&mr=1-12&bmo=1&emo=12&yr=all&byr=1900&eyr=2014
