Title: The Ice Storm
Post by: Rob'in'To on December 31, 2013, 09:37:27 AM
Hope everyone is alright after the storm and have their power back.  Here is a view of the aftermath from our backyard and some of the visitors coming around.

Nice job on your pictoblog...

We had to flee our home after ice storm last April....days after returning home from a hot 6 weeks in India....in the country, no power means no water either...wells need power for pump. Power was out for 4 days...and no one gave gift cards or even thought about calling the army.

Loved the Hydro One updates...the first thing they do is tell you how long it's been since your last call. I'd rather they spent the effort restoring power...better yet, design a hardier system....and give me a rebate on delivery charges when they aren't delivering....Hydro One inspires me to rant....

Thanks for giving the blog a read man!

Since we didn't suffer much, I really can't comment on the outcome but it was getting a little ridiculous as the days went by.  The people yelling at Rob Ford like he could do anything, the bits in the aftermath with those grocery gift cards...  it was like watching people in Walmart on Boxing Day or Black Friday.

It's feeling like deja vu this afternoon as we have another storm and another threat of freezing rain.  Some people are starting to freak out on social media.

We opened our doors to friends without power, and friends opened their doors to us if we got hit again, telling us to pack up our zoo and head over anytime.  I guess compared to others, we were very lucky, no matter how it was going to play out.
