Title: Sign of Spring?
Post by: Brian Bailey on February 08, 2014, 11:11:03 PM
One of the earliest signs of spring is the song of the cardinal.  I heard my first one singing his spring song this morning, despite the bitter cold.

Yep, there were two Cardinals singing yesterday in the bright sunshine (Milton)

none today. It happened last year in Jan It didn't speed up the arrival of

Spring one bit

Yeah, I don't think they're much for prediction.  They start singing pretty much as soon as they notice the days getting longer.  Still, it does mean that spring is coming... eventually.
