Title: Tree Swallows and more @ Col. Sam today
Post by: nana on April 02, 2014, 05:39:31 PM
7 Tree Swallows zipping and zooming near the shore this afternoon. 2 pairs of Northern Shoveler, several pairs of Ring-necked Duck - all in the bay South of the parking lot. Killdeer in various places. Song Sparrows singing loudly throughout the park.No sign of the Harlequin but the trusty Snowy Owl was still sitting on the end of the far wharf. I met up with a pal there who had just seen a pair of Eastern Bluebirds checking out nest boxes but I couldn't refind them. He also flushed a Woodcock. Dozens of Red-necked Grebe! Is it Spring?? Several cormorants flying by too.
