Title: Woodpecker sightings Georgian Bluffs
Post by: bobolink on April 07, 2014, 06:33:11 PM
Owen Sound area..I was thrilled to see a Red Bellied woodpecker at our feeder on Saturday, followed by a Pileated Woodpecker on our spruce tree. We also have seen Downy woodpeckers frequently at the feeder as well as on various trees in the neighbourhood.

No, they stay during winter.

The migrating woodpeckers are Northern Flicker, Yellow-bellied Sapsucker and Red-headed Woodpecker.

Thanks.. I wasn't sure if they migrate or not. This is the first time I have seen them here.
