Title: Ruffed Grouse

Our driveway is long and windy....this morning as I returned from dropping my daughter at school, I came around a bend in driveway and surprised a male Ruffed Grouse displaying to an audience of 5...I assumed females because they didn't have the fan tail display...I always assumed they lekked...and I think I remember seeing an RG lek. Beautiful reddish tints in the fan. Perfect photo op....I had nothing on me.

yeah....from time to time you can catch Tom turkeys lekking in an old cornfield...striking.
