We live just north of Glen Morris, about 4km south of Cambridge. We noticed the Sandhill cranes here in the area for the first time about 5-6 years ago. Today I heard their loud, raucous call from the wetland area down behind us to the south, for the first time this year.

We used to see them every year in the adjacent field beside our house, with young, but a developer has built new homes there and the cranes don't venture up this far on foot anymore.

Gorgeous birds!
