Woo hoo! An orange fireball shot across the yard! A male Baltimore Oriole paid many visits to our feeder this afternoon. So nice to see him and others soon to come too. :D

Other interesting stuff include this banded Pigeon who hung out with us for 4 days recently. I learned he's from somewhere in Quebec, approximately 575 kms from here. When we had that big rain storm hit Tuesday, he left and hasn't returned. He enjoyed cracked corn through his visit.

We've been enjoying the sights of a Chipping Sparrow here. And oddly enough still have some Juncos buzzing around as of today.
Night visitors are surfacing... Raccoons, Skunk, and an Opossum.

Bugger...why do they find your yard first?
I'm still waiting for mine to show up. Based on last years arrival, I have about another week to wait.
Nice going Rob...great things can be found in your backyard.

Love the oriole shot but his earmuffs are much too big! :)
-
Haha @ Howie!
Gee, I dunno why Meghan? Maybe they don't like hanging out with your Hummingbirds? I recall you do well with those, much like Howie. Correct?
Its been wonderful seeing him and hearing his song so loud. :D

Got one this morning...I'm happy now!

I probably won't see orioles in my backyard until my neighbours trees have blossoms but I saw at least 5 in Earl Bales Park this afternoon. They stayed fairly high in the trees but even at a distance they sure are beautiful!

3 male Orioles today, one is banded! I suspect its the same bird as last fall migration. I caught 7 of the 9 numbers on his band. So close yet so far.
Also had 2 male Rose-breasted Grosbeaks.
YAY you Meghan! :D
All in time, eh Howie. Psst... No more Budgies. ;)

Explosion of orange this morning!! 10 Orioles all over the feeder today. It was crazy!! Love it!
Also something else...as big as an Oriole but really light brown, lighter breast with vertical light brownish streaks in the breast and a really bold creamy line right across they eye. The male Orioles chased it off before I could grab a snap. Hopefully it returns, I've never seen whatever it was before.

Nice Meghan!
We've had 6 males and 2 females this weekend. And 1 male Hummingbird.
Gosh, I wonder what you saw?
