Title: A visiting Brown Thrasher
Post by: cathief on May 06, 2014, 03:34:17 PM
I was treated to the presence of a Brown Thrasher throughout this past weekend - he was elusive in that it took me until mid-Sunday to get a picture of him.  I don't know enough about birds to know whether their visit to a backyard happens often but it was a treat for me as I had not seen one of these birds before.

It is a pretty good yard bird in town, usually just in migration.  Somewhere in between uncommon and rare.  I have seen them in my yard just 7 times in 18 years (2 in April, 1 June, 3 September, 1 October).

I've had 1 in my backyard in 7 years of searching.
