We've had a huge influx of White Crowned Sparrows over here too. Put up some bird boxes in the fields behind our place and already have one pair of Bluebirds sitting on eggs as well at several boxes claimed by Tree Swallows.  Get that ice damage cleaned up yet? We have two bush cords of ice storm wood stacked and ready for next winter.

Well.....looks like you have stolen our Bluebirds..... 8) ......this is the first year we don't have a nesting pair.

Though I am saddened by this.....I am also happy for you.....enjoy.....  :D

If you're up for it......you can get some meal worms and train the Bluebirds to come to your patio.

I usually buy 10,000 from Natalie at Best Bug & Feeders

We have Tree Swallows nesting in one box in our yard.....along with the usual Robin under the eave.

The ice storm clean-up continues......we already had an all day burn but didn't put much of a dent into it.

P.S.  ......I will keep my eye out for the Chimney Swifts

Sorry for stealing the Bluebirds lol.
The boxes are really too far away off our property to make meal worm feeding practical but will keep it in mind. We too saw our first hummingbird today. Our House Wren appeared today too and decided it didn't like the feathers the Tree Swallows have in their nest box, but the TS put them back again, comical to watch. I sure hope that House Wren finds a mate this year so I don't have to listen to it again all summer.

Bluebirds showed up last week and moved right into the nestbox in my yard.....   :D  ......3 eggs as of this morning

I guess I got lucky and they chose to come home for the second round......  8)

The other nestbox is bursting at the seams with Tree Swallow yutes.......will likely fledge today or tomorrow

great to hear!! Entirely possible that mine moved back to your place as they are gone.
Our Tree Swallows are just hatching, having had nesting issues with the House Wren earlier in the season.
