Title: Warbler and Flycatcher +
Post by: Andygod on May 14, 2014, 05:58:47 PM
I really suck at this bird ID thing.
I am pretty sure the yellow one is a warbler, but not sure which one, the next one I think is a flycatcher, but not sure.  The last 2 were either fighting or mating and while the shape is similar the colour is very different.

Same bird, different angle.

OK first I have to appologize, I thought I recognized that first bird and since there were so many warblers around I just assumed it was a warbler.  I went through my books and searched online for a warbler that looked similar and was very surprized when I couldn't find one because it looked so familiar.  I guess I couldn't see the forest for the trees.  My wife found the Flycatcher which is really cool because I know I don't have any other pictures of one and have probably never seen one before, one more for the list.  I was quite surpized by the colour variations of the Oriole.  I have a couple of good Baltimore Oriole pictures of mature males, but didn't realize just how different some of the females and juveniles were.  I also saw an Orchard Oriole and Blackburnian Warbler which I had never seen before so it was quite an exciting day.
