Title: Can use some help with these

I'm not a small bird guy but these warblers are getting me very interested

Possibly, I thought the black in front of the eye indicated first spring male, but it's not very much.

Yeah, I was wondering about that.   But I've found some images of other females that seem to have a darker loral area, although not black.  I wonder if it looks black because of the light.

I was going on the yellow, as opposed to orange-yellow colours - compare the bottom bird with the top.  And look at the lack of yellow/orange at the base of the flight feathers, which is something I'd expect even a young male to have (again, compare with the top bird).

Makes sense with female.
