Title: Maplewood Park - must have been a hawk around
Post by: Bird Brain on May 21, 2014, 11:38:27 AM
Hi everyone.  A very odd 1 hour at Maplewood Park this morning 10:15-11:15am, complete silence!  No birds chirping or singing and no squirrels running around.  At the NW walking trail, I found lots of dark black with white feathers all over the place - figuring there must have been a hawk around.  Took a good long look but didn't sight anything.   No butterflies either - bummer.  Lots of Trilliums - white, pink and purple.

Maplewood Park:  East side of Glen Erin Dr., just North of Aquitaine Ave.

Sunday, May 25th, 12:15-12:45pm ... once again, woods completely silent.  All of a sudden "kek kek".  Yep, hawk is around.  8)
