Title: The Perplexing Passerine - please help
Post by: jackbreakfast on May 22, 2014, 11:00:06 AM
Birdos
I am flummoxed by this one and I can't say why! Will you help, please? This ______ was overhead and I managed a quick snapshot. I've cropped in so as to show a reasonable amount of detail. Many thanks and kind wishes

O-ho there! Female BP was my top guess, but something, who knows what, isn't sitting right.
Also, I hadn't paid attention to the image posting size and it seems the tail is cut off! The image presentation was fine on my computer, but here on my phone, things are different. I can repost later, if that will be helpful?

thanks brian for your consensus....

i saw my first -- lifer -- blackpoll yesterday in the wet woods....i spent alot of time observing.......and made note of the orangish legs and feet, which according to my new "the warblers guide" by Tom Stephenson and Scott Whittle is a Diagnostic Field Mark -- to quote "usually bright orangish legs and feet".
