Visited Colonel Sam Smith Park yesterday afternoon hoping to spot the whimbrels. I was lucky to be there at the right time around 3:30 PM when a flock (21 of them according to a report at ONTBIRDS) did a few passes near the South-East tip of the park before deciding to move on.
Thank you to the gentleman with a scope who pointed them out to me.

Great sightings and good photos too. Thanks for sharing. I went there today between 12 and 1; saw flocks of Dunlins but no Whimbrel during that time. I heard tomorrow and Sunday will see the peak of their fly-by.
