What is this bird? It was foraging among tall grass; it came out and froze as soon as it saw me.  Is it a Grouse or a Juvenile Wild Turkey? Thanks in advance.

Methinks it's a Ring-necked Pheasant.

Thanks; though I expected a pheasant to be more colorful. I presume this is a female.
