Hey
At lunch today I spotted a couple of Chimney Swifts flying high over Downsview park.
At 3:00 pm I spotted one at Ancaster rd, North of Wilson at the park.
I haven't seen any reports What's up with that?

are you talking about reports on ebird? I have seen the swifts a couple times as well. It would be great to find their roost, if anyone is there early or late keep an eye out for chimney activity.

Rebecca, who looks after monitoring toronto swifts, made a post 2 weeks ago on this page...and there were repeated replies.

Tracking them sure is no easy task.
You know where we live more or less, eh. We see Swfits almost daily all summer long over the backyard and come dusk I've seen large flocks feeding over the Humber on Scarlett one night, in a nearby park another night, etc. And suddenly, in an instant they are all gone.
No clue where they roost here either.
I've been in contact with Rebecca regarding these birds last year. Sightings pour in but not all roosts are found.
I easily lose sight of them come roost time with all the visual obstacles (building, trees, whatever). We'd gladly do a Swift count if we ever find a nearby roost. We joined last year's count at Moss Park one evening, it was a lot of fun. The year before, sat out in a school parking lot with Bill Read of the OEBS in Cambridge and had over 400 go to roost, plus 6 Nighthawks flew over us too.
