Beautiful bird, hope to come across one at some point. Great colours on your shots.

Beautiful photos!

I saw two males and one possible female at Riverwood Conservancy in Mississauga today. The males were fighting. I don't think they have nested yet. I often but certainly not always find them when I'm walking the loop of unpaved grass/gravel road that is used by the maintenance vehicles near the lower parking lot. If you look there, stay to the side of the "road" because the vehicles are not expecting pedestrians as it's not meant to be a visitor path. I've never heard them calling although the internet says they call steadily....You need them out in good light to get a good photo as their irridescence looks black otherwise.

Those photos were shooting in Ottawa Mud Lake on May 25,2014.
I am living in Mississauga, if I have time, I will go to Riverwood and try to meet them. Thanks BetCrooks' direction.
