Looking for an ID on this so I can send off a banding report, thanks.

The bill and wings look fairly long so I think it's a White-rumped Sandpiper.

I don't think I am sold on White-rumped, I am not sure if the bill tip tapers to fine enough. I am more inclined to think Semi-palmated Sandpiper. Not 100% easier to distinguish against other birds in groups, isolated with no size relevance makes it tough.

I'm not completely sure either, thought the bill looked too long for Semipalmated, but, as you say, it's tricky with single birds without any comparison.

looks better for a semi, they can have quite a range of bill lengths but head shape and wing length fit best for semi imo.
