Title: Chukar at Lake Aquitaine!
Post by: Bird Brain on June 01, 2014, 11:00:38 AM
Wow!!!

Hi everyone.  10:30am, I almost fainted as a very tame Chukar came walking right up to me!  Located at West end of lake, right behind the Meadowvale Community Centre.  My first time ever sighting one of these birds!  I wonder if this bird is going to be OK - he or she is walking around on the paved trail and pecking at dandelions.

Lake Aquitaine:  SE corner of Glen Erin Dr./Aquitaine Ave., behind the Meadowvale Community Centre.

Interesting sighting.  Any idea what happened to it?  I passed by this evening but did not see it.  Very busy area I must say.

Hi Rottaran.  Not sure what happened after I left in the morning - perhaps he (or she) went to some shrubs.  Yes, a very busy place on Saturdays and Sundays!  Week days are not too bad.   Sorry to read that you never sighted this bird.  I have no camera so was really hoping that someone would take some photos!
