Title: Red-winged Blackbird. Female or Immature male?
Post by: JWapachee on June 01, 2014, 09:13:23 PM
I observed this bird collecting algae and picking up food from the water. I think this is an immature male Red-winged Blackbird. Or is it a female? What do you think? Anyone can help?

Thanks

You may want to look at the interesting variations in plumage at various ages and both sexes at the McGill university site

Should be a female as it is very streaky below.
