Title: Carden Bird ID
Post by: Dinusaur on June 08, 2014, 05:42:55 PM
Please help confirming ID of these birds.
#1 & #2: Great Crested Flycatcher? These are taken from a distance. There were two of them by the roadside and they seemed bigger than usual flycatchers, more like the size of a mockingbird.

yes... first 2 are Created flycatcher, which are alot bigger than general flycatcher found around here...sort of like the Chat being in the warbler family, you can't always go by sizes to classify.  Will let someone else common on sparrow

Definitely on the Great Crested Flycatcher. They flew by me on Thursday while my camera (on the tripod) was pointed in the wrong direction. I'm not sure about the Swamp Sparrows since I haven't seen too many of them but according to my book they look like Swamps.

Nice shots.

Right on both. Great crested flycatcher and swamp sparrow.
