Title: wildflowers of scarborough....
Post by: gary yankech on June 09, 2014, 07:58:52 AM
It has been an okay birding season for me, maybe  because I have been focused more on the wildflowers.
Here are a few that I have seen the last few weeks. All of these are native to Ontario.

Lovely photos!

And thanks for the name of the Virginia Waterleaf. I didn't know it's name till you posted this.

Your welcome! This particular picture does not show the usual water-like stain markings on the leaves, distinct for this species.

Good to know. I'll take a close look at what I think may be that type of Waterleaf this week if I can.
Thanks again!

Some beautiful photos Gary!  I love the Wild Columbine.  I see it growing in Rouge Park each year.  I have a hybrid growing in our garden called 'Little Lanterns'.  Overall a smaller plant with smaller flowers...but produces lots of the them!

Aquilegia canadensis 'Little Lanterns'

Thanks for sharing your photos!

Walter :)
