I have seen this bird a few times in different places around Uxbridge. It has a dark brown body and white chest. My Sibley guide says it is a domestic mallard. Any conformation on this, or has anyone seen anything like it before? I'm not sure how to put a photo directly on the post, but here is the link to it. http://outdoorontario.net/Gallery/Mark/Odd_Malard (http://outdoorontario.net/Gallery/Mark/Odd_Malard)
Any info on the bird or posting pics appreciated.

Hi Mark,
I believe it's a mallard x domestic. There's one like it in High Park here in Toronto.

Thanks for the feedback Joe.

yes, definitely a domestic mallard :)
there's actually a family of them in high park - two males and one female (plus the domestic mother) they're quite beautiful, as not one looks the same!
one of the males looks just like the one you posted, whereas the other is more brown and creamy colored on the body - with a greenish brown head.
and the female is beautiful! she's cream colored with a few brown mallard feathers - you should give them a look if you get the chance :)

In the same creek as the mallard x domestic, I saw a mallard x black duck also today along with about 50 normal mallards. All in the same creek :D . It seems all the mallards in town have gathered here! I'll get a pic if I can.
