Wasn't expecting to stumble upon a snowy owl today 26 June 2014 on Amherst Island.

Very nice. Possibly now be a resident in stead of visitor?
-
Very unusual and very nice.

Wild! Hope he survives the heat/humidity and doesn't pick up West Nile through his summer stay. Northern Owl species are highly susceptible to West Nile.

Beautiful shots! I guess food is in abundance. Are there any records of snowies staying here for the summer? Maybe I'll get to see one after all - in July?? :)

A few years ago there was one record of one on Wolfe Island mid summer but thats the only one I am aware of myself.

I guess they are slowly adapting to global warming.
