Title: Black-billed Cuckoo, Bank Swallows - TTP today
Post by: nana on July 11, 2014, 07:37:52 PM
Hundreds - three, four? - of Bank Swallows are gathering on the phragmites at the end of Cell 1 close to the corner of the inner path near the new viewing platform. Also tonight a Black-billed Cuckoo flew into the bushes on the lake side of Cell 1 and moved along in front of me from clump to clump calling all the way. Great views and when I reached the area where the Bank Swallows were, it headed off to the huge trees along the city side of the Spit, still calling.

4 Monarchs tonight, one single female, a mating pair and 1 other.

Common Yellowthroat and a female American Redstart in the shrubs and reeds around Cell 1 as well.
