Title: Strange Swallow Sightings
Post by: Flyingbass on July 13, 2014, 12:58:58 PM
Hello,

I have been noticing tree and barn swallow in some unusual places recently.  I have seen them in the middle of residential neighbourhoods in the heart of the downtown core, not typical for swallows.  Often these are places that a walk almost daily, if they actually found some nesting habitat I would have noticed them earlier in the season.  I'm curious if these are early migrants or expanding families looking for some new homes?  Has anyone else noticed this?

Cheers,

Jonny

I've seen Barn Swallows whipping around Hurontario and Britannia (just south of the 401) this summer.  Some open fields in between all the office buildings but no idea where they'd nest.
