Title: Chukars in Thornhill
Post by: nickitka on July 27, 2014, 05:36:53 PM
Hi all,

This morning we saw three chukars walking near Steels and Bayview, northern side. Was kind of surprising to see them here   . I assume, somebody is breeding chukars and they escape. Nevertheless, the were just walking near the park area.

Cheers,

I do landscaping for a property located just west of Bayview and Steeles, near Pomona Mills, and as I was working away, the house owner called me up to the deck in the backyard and pointed at a bird that had flown into his back patio sliding glass door. It was a Chukar.  Sadly the bird passed away from the collision with the window.

Hi James,

It is sad, so it means that there are more than one family of Chukars in that area. We saw the same trio in mid September. They are beautiful!
