Title: Centennial Park Deer Mice
Post by: KP on July 30, 2014, 07:58:56 PM
I went for a hike at Centennial Park today.  I was lifting up logs looking for Eastern Red-Backed Salamanders.  I lifted up a log and saw 3 Deer Mice.  There were 2 Deer Mice under the log and 1 Deer Mouse in the log.  I read that now is the breeding season for Deer Mice.  I also read that Deer Mice nest in hollow logs.  I am hoping that the Deer Mice will return to that same log.  I do not want the Deer Mice to go through any trouble to find another nesting site.

They also nest in my sheds....in my juniper bushes....they used to nest in my house too but spray foam insulation took care of that...
