In the summer, there are not too many opportunities to get good bird shots, (nothing beats the spring bird migration) so I switch to another creature on the wing.....moths. Many of my moths photos I have taken at home, I collet them from my backyard, photograph them, and then release. This has been a pretty good summer season for moths: close to 50 species found just in my backyard. Here are some of my favourites. Enjoy!

thanks.....September for mushrooms I feel has better diversity, you get the summer/fall fungi. But October is also vey good depending upon the weather and temperature.

Fantastic shots! I had an ailanthus webworm on my car a few days ago, but certainly didn't get such a nice portrait of it.

Oct. 11th at Riverwood - hopefully a great mushroom walk! 8)
