Title: Shore bird ID
Post by: Dinusaur on August 17, 2014, 09:15:48 PM
Please help in identifying these two shore birds I saw on Saturday at Downsview. There's a slight variation between the two; green-yellow legs vs. black legs for one.

Least Sandpipers.

The lead bird looks more like a Semi-palmated Sandpiper, legs look black not dirty, and bill is different. Less curve like a least would have.

That's what I thought too. There are definitely some noticeable differences between the two.

Yes, I agree with Semipalmated on the right-most bird.
