Title: Spring Bear Hunt
Post by: Axeman on August 30, 2014, 10:56:52 PM
Was the Spring bear hunt reinstated in Ontario ?

Just wondering -- I don't recall any bear encounters in GTA / Southern Ontario this year...and I know that every time there was an encounter, the cancellation of the spring hunt was blamed...

Axeman! I know this is an old thread but!

Early July 2018 O.P.P  called to Tiny Beaches road near Balm Beach on numerous occasions for reports of a Black Bear.

Mid August 2018  O.P.P Called to Caledon Village,  Black bear Cub in a Back yard, Mother was spotted as well.

I heard the dispatch calls on my scanner, reception is fantastic in Tiny township.

Hey Napper!

Long time...thanks!

Didn't hear about the Caledon village sighting but will check it out....we had a rash of bear sightings in September....in one day, 3 sightings different bears....one in Kenilworth....a big one photographed in Fordwich and a smaller adult in between Harriston and Gowanstown.....in field alongside the highway.....Kenilworth is where all the action is....in the summer, OPP were called for reports of a lion cub.....and they found her.....escapee.

If you caught OPP dispatch reporting a streaker in mount forest, it was a false report....the guy was wearing a smile.
