Title: Downsview Hawk ID
Post by: Dinusaur on September 27, 2014, 08:49:06 PM
Is this a juvenile Red-tailed? I have seen many RTHs in Downsview last winter - so I presume it is also an RTH. However, it is markedly different from what I photographed in the past. Yellow tinges in the belly, chest, wings and eye and also overall shape of the head make it look different from the regular RTHs. Thanks in advance.

Yes, juv. Red-tailed Hawk, they are pretty variable, but the belly band is characteristic.
