Title: American Pipit at Col Sam
Post by: JW Mills on October 05, 2014, 06:59:04 PM
We found one Pipit for sure on the rocks at Whimbrel Point, Col Sam Smith Park this afternoon.
There was another bird hopping/flying around on the rocks as well but we never got a good look at it.

Hi John,

If it was actually hopping, it was probably a sparrow of some kind.  Pipits walk.

Sorry if I wasn't clear.  I wasn't questioning the Pipit ID, just suggesting that if the unidentified bird was hopping, it was unlikely to be another Pipit.
