Title: Snowy Owl in Etobicoke
Post by: rwn_ca on January 30, 2008, 05:04:14 PM
I've spotted a Snowy Owl on Lake Shore Blvd. W.  on Tuesday Jan 29th, 2008 just west of Kipling.

It was flying slowly west and landed on the main Humber College building on the south side of Lake Shore.

Has anyone else seen a snowy owl in the area?

Haven't seen one recently, but they have been known to hang around there.  Saw a pair of Kestrals in a tree at Sam Smith the other day; along with some Scaup, Long Tails, Common Goldeneye, Bufflehead, Gadwall, Red Breasted Merganser, and... oh yeah, the elusive Ring Billed Gull and the equally elusive Mallard.

One often passes thru Col Sam and might stay a few days. I was there Monday, and looked around for one, but no luck... had a nice mink tho.

At the mouth of the harbour. It's got a few well-used holes in the ice at the tip of the break-water on the harbour side, but it's been running across the ice as well.
